Dr. Sausner was born and raised in Massapequa, New York. She earned her Bachelor of Arts with Honors at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Sausner then moved to Saint Kitts and Nevis where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Ross University. To complete her veterinary studies, Dr. Sausner attended clinics at North Carolina State University.
After gaining valuable experience practicing at a small animal veterinary hospital outside of Raleigh, Dr. Sausner relocated to South Florida and joined Plantation Midtown Animal Hospital in 2021, where she now serves as our Medical Director. Dr. Sausner is passionate about preventive care, internal medicine, and dermatology. A happy puppy visit always brightens her day, but she also has a special place in her heart for compassionate end-of-life care, ensuring aging pets feel loved and comfortable while helping their owners navigate this sensitive time. Dr. Sausner strives to provide a low stress experience to her patients and has completed both “Fear Free” and “Low Stress Handling” programs.
Outside of work, Dr. Sausner enjoys boxing, yoga and fitness classes, traveling with her family, keeping up with the latest fashion trends, and spending time on the water. She is a proud football fan and loves cheering on the Tulane Green Wave (Roll Wave!) and the New Orleans Saints (Who Dat!). She cherishes time with her young son, her husband—a proud military veteran—and their two rescue dogs, Zulu and Camellia.
